Ara Skola (again!)

I love Georgian spontaneity, but sometimes I wish people would let me in on the secret. I arrived at school this morning, only to find that my lessons were cancelled because the children had gone on a Theatre trip, and no one had informed me that I didn’t need to come to school.

If I didn’t come to school, I would be in trouble, especially if I failed to inform anyone, and its not as if I haven’t seen people for them to remind me, and everyone has my mobile number since the Director pinned it on the wall beneath my timetable in the staff room (all in Georgian, not in English), so it wouldn’t take a second to inform me that I didn’t need to travel one hour into school today.

Apart from the fact, that I also had lessons planned for today, and it would have been nice to have been invited on the trip with them. I think its great for students to have such opportunities, and I know that sometimes things happen spontaneously, but surely someone could let me know what the plans are.

I am sure that most people would be happy for the day off, just as I am, but equally, I really look forward to classes, and with the different holidays of late, I haven’t seen my Monday classes for a few weeks now, and we only have a couple of weeks left. There…..that’s the rant over, and everything else is good in the world otherwise.
